GORS was
established
since
1986 in
accordance
with the
legislative
decree
no.8 GORS
has replaced
the National
Remote
Sensing
Center
which
was established
through
a steering
committee
in 1980.
GORS
excuts
a continuous
training
:program
which
includes
several
different
topics.
Trainees
are either
from GORS
technical
staff
or from
other
Syrian
relevant
ministries
and institutions.
Besides,
there
are participants
from some
Arabic
countries.
Each year the Ministry of Agriculture & Agrarian Reform lays out a production plan for exploiting agricultural resources, besides following up its execution for defining arable and non-arable areas, settlements, woods , parries and pastures for knowing both irrigated and rain fed areas, besides to estimating production of all various crops and fruit trees
